The Election Rigging Response Act
Republican leaders in Texas and elsewhere are attempting an unprecedented power grab to tilt the 2026 elections before a single vote is cast. Californians are responding boldly!
The Election Rigging Response Act (ERRA) is a legal, people-powered response that draws fair maps representing California’s diverse communities and protects our voice against partisan gerrymandering in other states. If passed it will help:
- Level the playing field for 2026 offsetting rigged GOP maps elsewhere.
- Calls on all states to adopt fair, impartial maps.
- Puts voters in charge: emergency maps require voter approval.
- Are temporary by design: expires in 2030 and returns authority to the Citizens Redistricting Commission after the next census.

In response to Texas Republicans’ redistricting plan aimed at entrenching GOP congressional power for the 2026 election and beyond, California Democrats are taking bold action to level the playing field. On August 14th, Governor Gavin Newsom introduced the “Election Rigging Response Act” (ERRA), a proposed constitutional amendment that would temporarily suspend California’s Independent Redistricting Commission and allow the state legislature to redraw congressional lines through 2030. The measure would shift as many as three GOP-held seats into Democratic territory, and make two additional Republican-held seats much more competitive — a direct counter to the Texas map.
Unlike Texas, where redistricting can happen unilaterally, California’s ERRA must earn approval from voters in the upcoming November 4th election. Early polling shows hesitation about overriding the commission, but Democratic strategists are confident that framing the measure as a stand against Donald Trump’s efforts to manipulate elections will mobilize voters.
Minneapolis Mayor & City Council Race (2025)
Actify’s Leader Team endorses the re-election of current Mayor Jacob Frey (versus the ethically-tarnished opposition). Further, the City Council, comprised of 12 members, has endorsed many positions of the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA Party) agenda, including defunding the Police, allowing for Encampments, and business-unfriendly policies, which have led to increased crime, reduced home values, business flight, and City budget deficits. The goal is to re-elect Mayor Frey and to elect a more pragmatic City Council majority to move the city forward. Early voting begins Sept 19, 2025. Besides supporting Mayor Frey we aim to increase turnout for candidates in the following Wards:

Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill represents New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, mother of four, former Navy helicopter pilot, and federal prosecutor, Sherrill brings a take-charge attitude to everything she does. Now running for Governor of New Jersey, she quickly earned the endorsement of over one hundred county and local officials, who say Sherrill is “willing to work with anyone—Democrat or Republican—to get things done for New Jerseyans. In times of crisis, she’s a leader—she makes tough decisions, and she delivers.”

Pennsylvania’s 2025 State Supreme Court Election Is Critical to Democracy’s Future
In November PA must vote to retain three Supreme Court justices who will protect democracy and reproductive freedom in the state. Otherwise, the Republican-led state Senate will be able to choose its replacements, with likely devastating impact on the 2026 elections and impairing Governor Josh Shapiro’s ability to lead.

The 2025 State Supreme Court election in Pennsylvania carries serious consequences for democracy, reproductive rights, and civil liberties across the nation. Currently, the court has a 5–2 Democratic majority. However, in November, three Democratic justices—Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht—will face retention elections. These elections do not involve challengers; instead, voters simply cast a “yes” or “no” vote on whether each justice should remain on the bench for another 10-year term.
If any of the justices are not retained, Governor Josh Shapiro would appoint temporary replacements. However, in 2027, those seats would be up for partisan elections—giving Republicans a prime opportunity to flip the court’s majority. A Republican-controlled court could uphold more restrictive voting laws, weaken voter protections, and approve partisan gerrymandering. This would directly affect the 2028 presidential election, limit access to abortion, and shape Pennsylvania’s legal landscape for years to come.
While the 2025 retention election may seem low-profile, it represents a critical inflection point in the fight to protect democracy.
